What is Picowork?+
Picowork is a collaborative cloud platform concept that brings people, communication, shared content and web resources into a common working environment. Its core software offering is the Collaborative Cloud Operating System, or CCOS.
What is a CoSpace?+
A CoSpace is a shared working environment organised around a group or purpose. It connects participants with the content, conversation and applications relevant to the work.
How is a virtual desktop different from a CoSpace?+
The virtual desktop is a personal starting point for resources and shortcuts. A CoSpace is the shared environment in which a group collaborates.
What is the difference between CCOS and CCC?+
CCOS is the software platform. CCC is an integrated hardware-and-software approach to hosting that environment in a dedicated device. Configuration and availability should be confirmed for a proposed deployment.
Can Picowork use existing infrastructure?+
The product model supports deployment of CCOS on existing servers, data centres and suitable cloud infrastructure. Suitability depends on the intended workload, configuration and operating requirements.
Can external participants join a CoSpace?+
The design includes invitations for external collaborators, including a link-based participation model. The exact identity checks, access flow and permissions must be validated for the selected configuration.
Does every invited participant need a separate account?+
The invitation model includes participation through invitations without a separate registration step in some scenarios. This should not be treated as an unrestricted access promise; identity and participant requirements need review for the deployment.
Can teams work on documents together?+
The design incorporates supported third-party document tools and synchronised work. Compatibility, editing rights and identity behaviour depend on the application and configuration being used.
Does Picowork include every application a business needs?+
No single environment replaces every specialist function. Picowork’s role is to bring relevant resources and collaboration together. The applications required for a workflow should be assessed individually.
Where is information stored?+
The architecture supports organisation-managed infrastructure and local storage. Resources accessed through external services may have different data flows, so storage should be reviewed across the complete workflow.
Can file owners control downloads?+
The design includes owner-defined viewing and downloading permissions. Confirm the behaviour for each content type, participant role and integration during technical review.
What does cross-cloud collaboration mean?+
It refers to the model of connecting participants from separate environments through a shared collaborative context. Network connectivity, identity and information sharing still require an agreed design.
Is CCC available to order from this website?+
This site explains the integrated CCC approach; it is not an ordering service. Device specifications, support and availability require confirmation before procurement.
Are current performance benchmarks provided?+
No. Capacity should be validated against the intended workload, user concurrency, hardware and network conditions. This site does not reuse historical test figures as current commitments.
Does this site claim a security certification?+
No current certification or independent assurance claim is made here. Security requirements should be assessed against current evidence for the proposed configuration.
How should a pilot be scoped?+
Choose a defined workflow and a representative group. Identify resources, permissions and integration needs, then agree the user journeys and acceptance criteria that the pilot must demonstrate.
What does the planning tool do?+
It creates a local collaboration brief from the choices you make. You can download or print the result. It does not send an enquiry, create a product account or submit information to a sales team.
Are the sample people and workspaces real?+
No. Interactive interface examples use fictional people and content to explain the collaboration model. They are illustrative rather than a live product demonstration.
A COMMON LANGUAGE
The Picowork glossary.
- CCOS
- Collaborative Cloud Operating System. The software foundation for Picowork’s shared working environment.
- CCC
- Collaborative Cloud Computer. The integrated hardware-and-software approach to hosting the environment.
- CoSpace
- A shared space organised around people, conversation, content and a common purpose.
- Virtual desktop
- A personal entry point for organising resources, applications and access to CoSpaces.
- Resource aggregation
- Bringing relevant files, links and applications into a common context for use.
- Cross-cloud collaboration
- A model for participants in separate environments to collaborate through a shared workspace.
- Organisation-managed infrastructure
- Hosting, storage and related systems operated under responsibilities defined by the organisation.
- Resource permissions
- The rules that determine how participants may access or use shared material.
PREPARE FOR A PRODUCT DISCUSSION
Bring the right
questions with you.
- Which configurations and integrations are supported for our workflow?
- Where will each category of information reside?
- How will internal and external participants be authenticated?
- Who will operate, maintain and recover the environment?
- What should be demonstrated before we expand the pilot?
